15 oz hammer from Estwing, smooth face. Forged in one piece, so head and handle are the same bar of steel.
Most hammers fail where the head meets the handle. Estwing removes that joint entirely — the tool is forged from a single billet, so there is no wedge to work loose and no wooden neck to split when you miss and catch the shaft on a nail.
The grip is a bonded shock-reduction pad, which soaks up most of the sting a solid steel handle would otherwise pass into your wrist.
Forged in Rockford, Illinois, where the company has built striking tools since 1923.
