This is a boxed Rada set in model S44, cast brushed-aluminum handles. Every blade is T420 high-carbon stainless, hollow-ground so the edge stays thin behind the bevel rather than wedging through what you are cutting, and the handles are cast solid aluminum, so there is no hollow rattle and no rivet seam to loosen.
Covers the cutting jobs a kitchen actually repeats, so one boxed set replaces a drawer of mismatched blades. Buying it boxed also makes it the set people hand on at a wedding or a housewarming.
Rada Mfg. Co. has been making cutlery in Waverly, Iowa since 1948, and grinds and assembles every blade at that plant.
