This is a boxed Rada set in model R135, pack of 2, cast brushed-aluminum handles. The working end is stainless steel formed for the job rather than stamped flat, and the handles are cast solid aluminum, so there is no hollow rattle and no rivet seam to loosen.
Butter, cream cheese and soft spreads, where the flexible blade lays it flat instead of tearing the bread. Buying it boxed also makes it the set people hand on at a wedding or a housewarming.
Rada Mfg. Co. has been making cutlery in Waverly, Iowa since 1948, and grinds and assembles every blade at that plant.
