The high-leverage design places the rivet closer to the cutting edge than a standard plier, which Klein measures at 36% more cutting power for the same hand effort. The cutting knives are induction-hardened so the edges hold up to repeated cuts on soft metals and wire. The hot-riveted joint is set to run without play, so the handles do not wobble as they wear in.
The angled head lets an electrician get into panel boxes, junction boxes, and tight corners where a straight-head plier cannot reach. The short, beveled jaws allow flush cutting of wire close to a terminal.
