The Channellock 426 is a 6.5-inch tongue and groove plier with a straight jaw, 0.87-inch maximum jaw opening, and Channellock’s signature blue-dipped handles. Forged from high-carbon U.S. steel with laser-hardened teeth and a Permalock joint fastener.
The compact 6.5-inch size reaches into tight spots — sink traps, valve stems, appliance fittings — where a 10-inch plier can’t fit. The undercut tongue and groove design prevents the jaws from slipping off the adjustment, keeping the set jaw opening locked under load. Laser-hardened 90-degree teeth bite into round stock and hex fittings without chewing them smooth after a few jobs. The Permalock fastener replaces the nut-and-bolt pivot found on cheap pliers; there is nothing to loosen or shed under repeated flexing.
A plumber’s and maintenance tech’s everyday plier — small enough to live in a back pocket, strong enough to turn a stuck compression fitting loose.
Channellock has forged these pliers in Meadville, Pennsylvania since 1886. The 426 is declared Made in USA on the Amazon listing.
