The Wigwam El-Pine (Style F2044) is a heavyweight ragg wool crew sock knit with a dense cushion build throughout the foot. Ragg wool is the traditional two-tone wool yarn used for outdoor socks — it’s thicker and more durable than fine-gauge wool and holds warmth even when damp, which matters for cold-weather use. Grey Twist is the classic ragg wool colorway.
Crew height sits mid-calf for layering under boots and winter pants. The 76% Wool / 22% Stretch Nylon / 2% Spandex blend shifts the sock toward insulation over thinness — this is a sock for cold weather, not warm. Pair it with a leather work boot, a pac boot, or a heavier hiking boot and it handles winter commutes, outdoor work, and cold-season walking without the wool getting wet through the sock.
Wigwam has been knitting socks at its family-owned mill in Sheboygan, Wisconsin since 1905. Five generations of family, every pair manufactured in-house.
