This is the Lodge Wildlife Series 8-inch skillet — the same pre-seasoned cast iron as the standard Lodge 8-inch, with a duck-in-flight hunting scene cast into the pan’s interior surface. The scene shows through the seasoning as the pan cures over time. Functionally it’s a regular 8-inch skillet — eggs, a single chicken thigh, personal cornbread — but the cast design gives the pan a collector’s appeal that a plain skillet doesn’t have.
It’s the skillet that shows up as a gift for hunters, fishermen, and outdoor-themed kitchens, or as the piece that goes to a hunting cabin alongside the regular cookware. Pre-seasoned, oven-safe to any temperature, works on any stovetop including induction. Same lifetime durability as the rest of the Lodge line.
Lodge has been making cast iron cookware in South Pittsburg, Tennessee since 1896 — the longest continuously operating cast iron foundry in the United States. Every traditional black cast iron piece in the Lodge lineup is cast, seasoned, and packed at that Tennessee foundry.
