This Sea Bags large tote is a handsewn canvas bag cut from recycled sailcloth in the lobster print. The sail’s original texture and stitching are often still visible — every bag is built from a panel that actually caught wind somewhere in the world.
The tote works for the beach, the farmers’ market, or an overnight — heavy canvas handles real loads and softens into a favorite after a few weeks of use. The rope handles are made to last and get more comfortable as the bag breaks in.
Sea Bags has been handsewing totes and bags from recycled sailcloth in Portland, Maine since 1999. Every bag starts as a retired sail donated by a sailor somewhere in the world — cut, printed, and stitched by hand in the Portland shop. Each one carries the weather and character of where the sail has been, which means no two bags are ever exactly the same.
