Drop-forged American C1080 high-carbon steel with knurled jaws and the signature laser-heat-treated cutting edge. The 16-inch handle gives leverage on stubborn fittings the smaller Channellocks can’t budge; tongue-and-groove channel locks at any of nine jaw widths up to 4.5 inches. Phosphate finish for rust resistance.
The big-plumbing plier. Used for 4-inch PVC fittings, oil drum bung removal, water-main fittings, and gas-line work that needs serious leverage. Pairs with the Channellock 440 12-inch and 420 9.5-inch for a full plier rotation.
Channellock has been forging pliers in Meadville, Pennsylvania since 1886.
