The Ontario Rat I Linerlock Orange D2 takes Ontario’s most-carried EDC pocket knife and upgrades the blade steel from AUS-8 to D2 tool steel. D2 holds an edge substantially longer than standard stainless and resists chipping under hard cutting. The orange G10 handle is grippy wet or dry and stays visible if dropped in leaves, snow, or shop debris.
Linerlock mechanism keeps the blade locked open under cutting pressure, and the four-position pocket clip lets the knife ride tip-up or tip-down in either pocket. Sized at 3.5 inch blade length — legal in most US jurisdictions, sturdy enough for hard EDC tasks beyond simple package opening.
Ontario Knife Company has been forging knives in Franklinville, New York since 1889. Every blade is built in the same Western New York facility that supplies the U.S. military with the M9 Bayonet and ASEK survival knife — the same forge, the same heat treatment, the same finishing line.
