Powder-coated housings get scratched during installation, usually by whoever was holding the ladder. Left alone in a coastal or rainy climate, a scratch in the coating is exactly where corrosion starts.
This is Infratech’s own touch-up paint, matched to the finish applied to its heater housings at the factory, so the repair does not read as a patch of slightly-wrong colour when you look up at it.
Infratech supplies it from its plant in Gardena, California, where the housings are coated in the first place.
