The Benchmade Undercurrent 18040S is a folding water knife with a sheepsfoot blade in CPM MagnaCut steel — the blunt, rounded tip cuts line and cord without the puncture risk of a pointed blade, which makes it a strong sailing, kayaking, and rescue knife. MagnaCut shrugs off saltwater.
The high-visibility Depth Blue Santoprene handle grips securely when wet and is easy to spot on deck, and the folder opens one-handed and locks solid. It is purpose-built for the water rather than a repurposed EDC knife.
Benchmade has built knives at its Oregon City, Oregon factory since 1996, assembling every blade in the USA, and is known for premium steels, precise manufacturing, and its free LifeSharp lifetime sharpening service.
