This is the Glass Eye Studio Vortex Fireball Marble Paperweight 2″, a two-inch hand-blown glass sphere with a starburst of color suspended at the center and magnified by the clear glass around it. Each sphere is blown and shaped by hand, so the burst is never quite the same twice.
It sits on the included stand as a small sculpture that lights up on a windowsill or shelf, and it makes an easy, collectible gift. The smooth clear glass is satisfying to hold and turn in the light.
Glass Eye Studio has been hand-blowing art glass in Seattle, Washington since 1975, known for its recycled-glass ornaments and pieces made with Mount St. Helens volcanic ash.
