This is Fiesta’s Medium Oval Serving Platter in Lapis — an 11 5/8-inch oval in the deep cobalt-navy Lapis glaze. The oval shape is the right silhouette for items that don’t fit a round platter cleanly: whole roasted chicken, a filet of salmon, sliced beef tenderloin, or a row of appetizers plated down the length of the table.
It’s the platter that comes out for Sunday dinners, holiday spreads, and entertaining where the table is meant to feel set rather than improvised. Lapis reads dark and solid — lighter-colored foods (roasted chicken, rice, cream sauces) stand out clearly against the deep blue, which makes the platter work visually rather than just functionally. Dishwasher, microwave, and oven-safe to 500°F.
Fiesta has been making this dinnerware at its factory in Newell, West Virginia since 1936 — one of the longest-running domestic pottery operations in the country. Every piece is cast, fired, and glazed at that Newell plant, which is why the colors stay consistent from one collection to the next.
