The Dexter-Russell 1483 (model S131F-6PCP) is a 6-inch flexible curved boning knife from the Sani-Safe line, ground from high-carbon stain-free DEXSTEEL and fitted with a textured white polypropylene handle. The flex and curve let the blade glide tight along bone, and the stain-free steel resists pitting under the constant rinses and sanitizer baths required in commercial food service.
It’s a workhorse on a meat counter or fish station – deboning roasts, trimming fat off briskets, separating poultry joints, and filleting whole fish without leaving meat on the bone. The non-slip handle stays grippy when wet, and the slim ergonomic profile reduces hand fatigue across a full prep shift.
The 1483 is NSF certified for commercial use and is forged in Southbridge, Massachusetts by Dexter-Russell, America’s oldest cutlery maker, in continuous operation since 1818.
