The Buck 055 is the small-frame version of Buck’s legendary 110 Folding Hunter — same clip-point blade geometry, same brass bolsters, same genuine wood handle inlay, scaled down to a pocket-carry 2-1/2-inch blade. The lockback spine mechanism is the same time-proven design Buck has been producing since the 110 debuted in 1964, and it holds the blade open rigid as a fixed blade under working load.
The 420HC blade steel is Buck’s Paul Bos-tempered chromium alloy — it takes a keen edge, resists corrosion from moisture and skin oils, and is straightforward to bring back with a simple sharpening stone. At 2-1/2 inches of blade on a 3-5/8-inch closed handle, the 55 is sized for pocket carry without the weight penalty of the full 110, while still giving you enough blade for the cutting tasks that come up through a day.
Buck Knives has been making folding knives in the United States since 1902, now operating out of Post Falls, Idaho. The 55 is assembled at that facility and backed by Buck’s Forever Warranty — the same lifetime guarantee the 110 has carried since it launched.
