The CBO-500 is the smaller of Chicago Brick Oven’s residential kits, and for most backyards it is the right one. It has the same cast refractory-cement core and stainless reinforcement as the bigger ovens, so it reaches and holds real wood-fired temperatures, but it does not demand a patio the size of a restaurant courtyard.
As a DIY kit you get the oven core and build the enclosure yourself, which lets you match it to your house rather than settling for whatever finish a factory chose.
