This is the Klein J2000-28 — the Journeyman version of the D248-8. Same 8-inch angled head, same high-leverage rivet placement (46% more cutting force than standard diagonal cutters), same induction-hardened cutting knives, but with Klein’s Journeyman dual-material cushion grip instead of the plastic dip. The grip has a softer layer for comfort during long cutting sessions and a harder shell for durability in a tool bag.
It’s sized for full-time electricians, ironworkers, and HVAC techs who spend real time cutting heavy wire. The Journeyman grips earn their price on jobs where the pliers are in the hand for hours at a time — the extra cushioning reduces the hand fatigue that builds up when you’re cutting wire in volume.
