This is the Chris King DropSet 2 in matte mango, an integrated headset with an IS42/28.6 45-degree upper bearing and IS52/40 45-degree lower, fitting tapered 1-1/8 to 1.5 inch steerer tubes. The shield bearings are made in King’s own factory for smooth, durable rotation.
It drops into modern integrated head tubes on trail and enduro frames where headset bearings live a hard life — the GripLock system keeps the assembly tight through extreme conditions, and the matte mango anodizing signals the build from across the lot.
Chris King Precision Components has machined bicycle components in Portland, Oregon since 1976, making its own bearings from domestic-mill materials and anodizing parts in-house.
