The Estwing E6-22T is a 22 oz rip claw framing hammer with the patented Hammertooth claw and Shock Reduction Grip. The head and shaft are forged in one piece from American steel.
The Hammertooth design is the feature that separates this model from the standard E3-22S. A toothed profile on the inside of the claw bites into nail heads, drywall screws, and edges of lumber — once the claw locks onto a target, the tooth prevents slippage when the user leans back to pry. Estwing rates it at added torque to straighten twice as many boards compared with a standard rip claw. That matters on framing jobs where bent nails, crooked studs, and board-stripping demolition take up more of the day than driving fresh nails. The 22 oz head is Estwing’s most popular framing weight — heavy enough to drive 16d sinkers in two strikes, light enough to carry all day.
