The Frosting uses a directional C2 camber hybrid contour, Mervin’s all-terrain shape, so the nose floats while the tail still drives a turn. At 146cm the flex rating sits at 5 to 6 – a setting that stays easy to manoeuvre at low speed without folding when you push it.
Magne-Traction serrated edges give it hold on the icy and variable snow that most riders actually get, rather than the perfect conditions boards are usually described in. The sintered base is faster than an extruded one and absorbs wax deeply, which matters on flat runouts and cold days.
Mervin Manufacturing builds Lib Tech and GNU boards in Sequim, Washington, on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, and is one of the last snowboard makers that never moved production offshore. The factory runs on a zero-hazardous-waste process the company has built its identity around.
