Flat top griddles are excellent at smashburgers and terrible at everything that needs airflow underneath it. This GrillGrate panel sits directly on the griddle surface and gives you both: leave it off for eggs and hash browns, drop it on when you want steaks, chops, chicken or vegetables with real grill marks and rendered fat.
The panel is hard-anodized aluminum with the same patented rail-and-valley profile as GrillGrate replacement grates. The rails contact and mark the food while the valleys catch drippings and vaporize them, which is what puts grill flavor back into food cooked on a solid steel surface. It fits Blackstone, Traeger Flatrock, Weber and most other flat top grills.
Hard-coat anodization means the panel never rusts and will not season or flake the way carbon steel does. GrillGrate builds it in Cartersville, Georgia, alongside the rest of its grate line.
