This is the Klein 63225 — the 9.5-inch version of Klein’s high-leverage cable cutter, sized for feeder and service-entrance work on larger conductor. The extra handle length gives the additional mechanical advantage needed for 4/0 aluminum and 2/0 copper, and the jaw geometry shears the cable cleanly instead of flattening it.
It’s the cable cutter for panel feed, transformer tap, and larger aluminum triplex work where the 6.5-inch version runs out of leverage. The clean shear leaves the conductor round enough to terminate into a lug without reworking the end, and the forged alloy-steel jaws hold their edge through repeated service cuts.
Klein Tools has been making hand tools for electricians and tradespeople since 1857, headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois. The Journeyman and Standard pliers lines — along with many of Klein’s cushion-grip screwdrivers — are forged and finished in the United States, and clearly marked as such, so you know exactly what you’re buying.
