The John Boos R-Board Series 18″ x 12″ cutting board is edge-grain Northern hard maple at 1.5″ thickness, 10 pounds, with recessed finger grips on both ends for easy lifting and a smooth reversible top and bottom. No juice groove — both faces are flat working surfaces.
The 18×12 size fits most home-kitchen counter spaces and pairs well with standard cutting routines: vegetables, bread, fruit, and casual carving. Reversibility extends useful life — alternate faces between weeks of use.
John Boos has produced solid-maple cutting boards and butcher blocks in Effingham, Illinois since 1887 — the brand that defines the American-made butcher-block category.
