This is the Klein 6984INS — a 1000V insulated #1 square-tip screwdriver with a slim 4-inch shank. ‘Slim profile’ means the insulated shaft is thinner than a standard insulated driver, which is the difference between being able to reach into a tight device box or panel screw and having the insulation jacket hit the surrounding hardware first.
It’s the insulated driver for tight-space live work: device terminals, compact-panel breakers, and anywhere a #1 square head needs to be driven with the circuit still hot. The 1000V rating is certified per ASTM F1505, and the bright orange outer layer is code-standard so the tool is visually identifiable as insulated at a glance.
Klein Tools has been making hand tools for electricians and tradespeople since 1857, headquartered in Lincolnshire, Illinois. The Journeyman and Standard pliers lines — along with many of Klein’s cushion-grip screwdrivers — are forged and finished in the United States, and clearly marked as such, so you know exactly what you’re buying.
