The Marshalltown 57 Tile Setter’s Trowel is a 7 x 4-3/8 inch flat-blade trowel with a traditional wood handle, the tile setter’s heritage tool for moving thinset and tile adhesive in volume from the bucket to the wall or floor. The wide flat blade scoops a full pass of thinset in one cycle, dropping it on the surface where a notched trowel then combs the bed to the right depth.
Use it as the bulk-mover trowel on tile installations, scooping thinset from a 5-gallon bucket, transferring mortar from a board to the wall in volume, leveling raw thinset before notching, and any tile-setting chore where the setter wants to move material fast before switching to the notched trowel for the comb pass. The wooden handle gives traditional grip without the slip a wet thinset hand develops on a synthetic handle.
