This is the Nordic Ware Basalt 14-inch spun wok — a spun aluminized steel wok with a dark volcanic-look ceramic coating inside and out. At 14 inches, it’s a proper full-size wok: deep enough to stir-fry a family-size dinner, wide enough that the sloped sides actually let you push ingredients up out of the heat the way a wok is supposed to work.
Aluminized steel heats fast and holds heat high, which is what makes a home-kitchen stir-fry actually sear the vegetables instead of steaming them. The ceramic coating is PFAS-free nonstick, so cleanup stays simple without sacrificing the ability to get the pan screaming hot. Flat bottom makes it compatible with any home range including electric and induction. Helper handle on the opposite side for moving it off the heat full of food.
Nordic Ware has been manufacturing bakeware in Minneapolis, Minnesota since 1946. The company invented the Bundt pan in 1950 and still casts, spins, and coats every piece in its Naturals, Bundt, and cast aluminum lines at that same Minnesota factory — one of the last family-owned American bakeware makers still building its core products at home.
