This Sea Bags shoulder bag is a handsewn handbag cut from recycled sailcloth in the sand dollar print. The proportions sit between a tote and a crossbody — roomy enough for daily essentials without feeling oversized, and small enough to stay close to the body.
It’s a practical everyday bag with a handmade origin — every panel started as an actual sail, which means the texture, weight, and weathering are all one-of-one to the piece.
Sea Bags has been handsewing totes and bags from recycled sailcloth in Portland, Maine since 1999. Every bag starts as a retired sail donated by a sailor somewhere in the world — cut, printed, and stitched by hand in the Portland shop. Each one carries the weather and character of where the sail has been, which means no two bags are ever exactly the same.
