This Sunshine Candle Works 6-bar soap mold is the right batch size for home soap makers — large enough to actually justify mixing a soap recipe (small molds force you to scale recipes down to impractical fractions), but small enough that a beginner can experiment with new recipes without committing to 30-bar batches that go wrong all at once.
Each cavity produces a 2.5-oz round bar at 2-3/8 inch diameter — the comfortable hand-feel size for a regular bath bar. The full tray measures 10-1/2 by 9-7/8 by 1-1/4 inches, which fits on any standard countertop or refrigerator shelf during the curing phase. Cold-process soap typically cures for 4-6 weeks before use, so the mold is occupied for about a month per batch — pair with a couple molds if you want to run continuous batches.
To use: pour your finished cold-process soap mixture into the mold cavities, cover with parchment to prevent dust contact during the gel phase, and let cool to room temperature (typically 24-48 hours). Unmold by flexing the tray gently from underneath each cavity — the bars pop out cleanly. Stack the bars on a cooling rack for the 4-6 week cure before wrapping or using.
