The Vaughan RM24 Soft Face Rubber Mallet is a 24-ounce two-color (white face and black face) rubber-headed mallet on a hickory handle. The white rubber face leaves zero black scuff marks on light-colored surfaces, while the harder black face delivers a firmer strike for setting joinery and seating fixtures.
Use it for furniture assembly where rubber-friction joints need a tap to seat, automotive trim and bumper work, tile setting where the rubber head taps tile flat into the mortar without cracking it, woodworking joinery, camping stake driving, and any tap-and-set job that should not transfer marks to the workpiece. The hickory handle absorbs strike rebound and won’t loosen at the head joint through years of use.
Vaughan & Bushnell has been forging hammers in Hebron, Illinois since 1869 and remains the largest American striking-tool manufacturer still operating in the United States. The RM24 carries Vaughan’s lifetime warranty against defects in material and workmanship.
