This spline jig holds a mitred assembly at the correct presentation to cut slots for reinforcing splines, on either a router table or a table saw. A mitre glues end grain to end grain, which is the weakest bond in woodworking; a spline crosses that joint with long grain.
It is used on boxes, frames, and cabinet corners where the mitre must survive handling, and it registers the same way each time so the slots line up across all four corners.
Woodpeckers has designed and machined precision woodworking tools at its facilities in Strongsville, Ohio since 1993, doing its own machining, engraving, assembly and packing.
