The Workhorse Small clothesline pulley kit is the medium-size version of the larger 150-ft Workhorse system — sized for backyard spans up to 100 feet rather than full rural property runs. Two 8-inch pulleys anchor opposite ends of the span, with a fixed spacer keeping the upper and lower lines properly separated. Pull one end of the line and the other moves smoothly through the pulleys.
Ball bearing hubs on each pulley are the engineering detail that makes the system work under daily-use loads. Cheap pulleys without bearings bind up under the weight of a full clothesline, forcing users to muscle the line back and forth. The Workhorse Small’s bearings let a fully-loaded line pull smoothly with single-hand effort even under a wet-wash load. Powder-coated aluminum body resists rust through years of outdoor exposure.
The 100-foot maximum span is the right scale for typical suburban and small-acreage backyard setups (front yard to a side fence, deck to a back fence, etc.). Note that clothesline cable is sold separately — pick the appropriate diameter and material based on the load you’ll typically dry.
