This is the #12 Zeroll scoop, cast in aluminium with a Zerolon hard-coat surface and a sealed handle containing a heat-conductive fluid. Warmth from your hand travels down the handle and slightly softens the contact surface, which is why the scoop rolls a clean ball without hot water.
It is used behind ice cream counters and at home for hard-frozen product, where a plain steel scoop stalls and bends. The blue end cap marks the size at a glance in a service well.
The Zeroll Company has made its ice cream scoops and dishers in Florida since 1935, and states its scoops are made in the USA.
