These 7A sticks pair a slimmer hickory shaft with a nylon tip and Zildjian’s DIP rubberised grip section. The nylon tip gives a brighter, more defined cymbal ping than wood, and the DIP coating holds the stick in a sweaty hand.
They favour jazz, latin, lighter pop, and practice work where a heavy 5B feels clumsy, and the grip section helps on long sets without gloves.
The Avedis Zildjian Company has made cymbals since 1623 and manufactures them at its factory in Norwell, Massachusetts; its drumsticks are turned at the company’s Newport, Maine plant.
