Spyderco’s Golden, Colorado factory is where the company produces its premium American line — CPM powder steels, G-10 scales, and the Compression Lock or Back Lock mechanisms that Spyderco pioneered. The fit and finish on these knives is the benchmark knife nerds use to judge every other production folder.
The Native 5 is one of Spyderco’s longest-running Golden-built designs — a 3-inch leaf-shape blade in CPM S30V that’s been refined over five generations into a near-perfect light-duty EDC. The G-10 scales are contoured for long grip time, the mid-lock seats tight, and the blade sharpens easily thanks to the full-flat grind.
Spyderco has operated out of Golden, Colorado since the early 1980s, and the Golden factory remains the home of their most-refined blades. Every Spyderco carries a factory edge sharp enough to shave paper out of the box and is backed by Spyderco’s lifetime warranty.
