This is Fiesta’s 12-inch Oblong Serving Platter in Poppy — a rectangular ceramic platter in the warm orange-red Poppy glaze. The oblong shape is narrower and more angular than the oval platter, which makes it the right piece for foods that lay out long and flat: sliced bread, a whole fish fillet, rows of crudités, or a line of cheese and charcuterie.
It’s the shape that gets used for casual entertaining where the food goes directly on the platter rather than on individual serving trays. Poppy sits between Scarlet and Tangerine in the Fiesta palette — warmer than pure red, saturated enough to anchor the table. Dishwasher, microwave, and oven-safe to 500°F.
Fiesta has been making this dinnerware at its factory in Newell, West Virginia since 1936 — one of the longest-running domestic pottery operations in the country. Every piece is cast, fired, and glazed at that Newell plant, which is why the colors stay consistent from one collection to the next.
