The Field Company No.10 Cast Iron Dutch Oven is a 7-quart cast iron pot with a tight-fitting cast iron lid, sized for the bread-loaf-and-braise size most home cooks reach for. The same machined-smooth interior surface as the Field skillets makes the dutch oven release sticky braises and bread crusts the way most rough-cast dutch ovens can’t.
Use it for sourdough and no-knead bread baking (the closed cast iron vessel mimics commercial steam-injected ovens), braised short ribs and pork shoulder, large-batch chili and stew, slow-cooked beans, whole-chicken roasting, soup-making, and any application where the closed cast iron vessel earns its place. The 7-quart capacity holds a 4-pound boule plus a finger-width gap for steam expansion.
Field Company is a small American family-owned cast iron maker, casting at U.S. foundries and machining the cooking surfaces in-house. Every Field piece is modeled on the lighter, smoother cast iron of pre-1900 American kitchens.
