The Lodge Round Cast Iron Press is a 6.25-inch heavy cast iron weight with a wood-handle top, used to press food flat against a hot griddle or grill for restaurant-style sears. The cast iron weight delivers the consistent pressure that turns ordinary burgers into smashed-burger crispy edges and bacon strips into flat-cooked perfection.
Use it for smashed burgers (the technique pro griddle cooks use), panini and grilled cheese pressing, bacon strips that cook flat instead of curling, chicken breast pressing for even cooking, fish-fillet pressing, and any cooking application where consistent downward pressure earns its place. The 6.25-inch round press fits the standard 10.5-inch comal griddle and most cast iron skillets.
Lodge has been casting iron cookware in South Pittsburg, Tennessee since 1896 — over 125 years of American foundry-making. Every Lodge piece is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil and arrives ready to cook out of the box.
