The Estwing 4-Pound Blacksmith Hammer (Model 62314) is a 4-pound smithing hammer with a 14-inch hickory wood handle, a flat striking face, and an induction-hardened cross peen on the back end for drawing out hot metal at the anvil. The hickory handle is the traditional smithing handle that absorbs strike vibration and resists the heat of work-near-the-forge swings.

Use it for general blacksmithing at the anvil, hot-metal forging, farrier shoe shaping, knife-making rough-out, repousse and chasing work, and any 4-pound smithing application where the cross peen draws the metal in directions a flat-only hammer can’t reach. The fully forged induction-hardened head holds the proper face geometry through years of hot-strike work.

Estwing has been forging American hammers in Rockford, Illinois since 1923 — over 100 years of US tool making. Estwing’s hammers are forged from American steel and carry the company’s lifetime warranty.
