The Granberg G777 Small Log Alaskan Chainsaw Mill is the compact version of the Alaskan platform sized for chainsaw bars between 16 and 20 inches. The G777 carriage handles small-diameter logs (under 18 inches) where the full-size MK-IV would be overbuilt — perfect for hobby slabbing, urban tree salvage, and turning storm-fall logs into furniture stock.
The kit ships with the C-shaped steel carriage, mounting clamps, height-adjustment hardware, and the wooden case for organized field storage. Adjustable height stops set slab thickness from 1/2 inch up to 9 inches. The compact frame weighs less than the MK-IV so a single operator can carry the mill into the woods without a wheelbarrow, set up, and start cutting boards in under 15 minutes.
Granberg has manufactured the small-log Alaskan in Richmond, California since 1955 — the G777 carries Made in USA designation per the manufacturer’s listing. Pair the G777 with a 16-inch or 18-inch consumer chainsaw and the Granberg G106B File-N-Joint sharpener to keep the chain sharp during long milling sessions.
