Heavy-gauge sand-cast iron, 7-quart capacity, with three integral legs to raise the body off the ground or coals and a flat lid designed to hold coals on top. Bail handle for hanging from a tripod or transferring with a hook. Pre-seasoned, oven-safe at any temperature, also works in a regular oven if the legs aren’t an issue with the rack.
The Boy Scout, Mountain Man Rendezvous, and Dutch oven cookoff staple. Used for camp stews, baked-in-coals cobblers, sourdough breads, pulled pork, and any one-pot meal that needs to feed six to ten people. The 7-quart is the most-recommended size — big enough for groups, manageable enough for two people to carry.
Lodge has been casting iron in South Pittsburg, Tennessee since 1896 — the oldest American cast-iron foundry still operating.
