The Buck 262 Hexam Assist is an assisted-opening folding EDC knife with a 3.35 inch 7Cr17MoV stainless steel drop-point blade, an anodized aluminum handle, and a torsion-bar spring assist that flips the blade fully open after you start the motion with the thumb stud. The blade locks via a liner-lock mechanism and the gray hexagonal-pattern handle adds grip texture.
The assisted opening earns its keep when one hand is occupied — opening packages while holding a clipboard, cutting cordage at the jobsite, breaking down boxes in a warehouse aisle. At 5.26 ounces with the aluminum handle and assist hardware, the Hexam carries with the heft of a real working tool rather than a gentleman’s pocket folder.
Buck Knives has been making American folding knives since 1902 and manufactures the 262 Hexam at its Post Falls, Idaho factory. Every Buck blade carries the Forever Warranty against material and workmanship defects.
