The Buck 285 Bantam BLW is a mid-size folding pocket knife with a 3-1/8 inch 420HC stainless steel drop-point blade, a fiberglass-reinforced nylon handle, and a lockback mechanism that locks the blade open until you press the release. At 2.4 ounces it carries comfortably in a pocket without dragging, and the textured handle gives a positive grip even with wet or gloved hands.
Use it for daily carry tasks — opening packages, breaking down boxes, cutting cordage, prepping food at lunch, light field-dressing on a hunting trip. The drop-point blade geometry is the all-purpose choice that handles both slicing and piercing without specializing in either, and the steel takes a fine edge that resharpens easily on a basic stone or pull-through sharpener.
Buck Knives has been making pocket knives in the United States since 1902 and currently produces this knife at the Post Falls, Idaho factory. Every Buck folder carries the brand’s Forever Warranty against material and workmanship defects.
