The Buck 286 Bantam BHW is the heavy-handled large-blade version of the Bantam line, with a 3-3/4 inch 420HC stainless steel drop-point blade locked open by the same lockback mechanism the rest of the family uses. The fiberglass-reinforced nylon handle is sized for a full four-finger grip and weighs in at 3.2 ounces in pocket.
The longer blade earns its keep on outdoor tasks — field-dressing small game, slicing rope, prepping campfire food, and general bushcraft work where reach matters more than discreet pocket presence. The drop-point profile and 420HC steel take a working edge that resharpens fast in the field with a basic stone, and the textured handle stays grippy in wet or gloved hands.
Buck Knives has produced American-made folding knives since 1902 and manufactures the 286 at its Post Falls, Idaho factory. Every blade carries the Forever Warranty against material and workmanship defects.
