This is the Lodge 5-quart Double Dutch Oven — a 5-quart deep cast iron pot with a 10.25-inch skillet that sits on top as the lid. The two pieces work independently: the deep pot for soups, stews, braises, and frying; the skillet for everyday searing and eggs. Flipped together, they form a full Dutch oven sized for a 4-lb roast, a batch of no-knead bread, or a full chicken.
It’s the better buy than a single-purpose Dutch oven — the same footprint in the cabinet delivers two working pans. Both pieces are pre-seasoned with vegetable oil at the foundry, oven-safe to any temperature, and work on induction, gas, electric, grill, or over a fire.
Lodge has been making cast iron cookware in South Pittsburg, Tennessee since 1896 — the longest continuously operating cast iron foundry in the United States. Every traditional black cast iron piece in the Lodge lineup is cast, seasoned, and packed at that Tennessee foundry.
