The Channellock 430 is a 10-inch straight-jaw tongue and groove plier forged from high-carbon U.S. steel, with laser-hardened 90-degree teeth, Permalock joint fastener, and Channellock’s signature blue-dipped handles.
The 10-inch size is the middle point of the Channellock line and the one most tradesmen own first — long enough for 2-inch pipe, short enough to live on a belt. The undercut tongue and groove keeps the jaws locked at the chosen opening under load so a pipe doesn’t wiggle the plier back closed while turning. Laser-hardened teeth dig into fittings that polished teeth would slide off after a few uses. The Permalock fastener replaces the nut-and-bolt pivot common on off-brand pliers — nothing to back out, no sloppy joint development.
A core daily tool for plumbers, electricians, mechanics, and homeowners tackling real plumbing and fastener work.
Channellock has forged these pliers in Meadville, Pennsylvania since 1886. The 430 is declared Made in USA on the Amazon listing.
