This Birds Choice Classic feeder surrounds a seed tube with a spring-loaded outer shroud that stays open for lightweight songbirds but slides down under a squirrel’s weight, covering the feeding ports until the raider gives up. The recycled-poly and metal build resists chewing and weather where wood and plastic feeders fail.
Set it up on the included pole in an open spot away from launch points like fences and branches, fill the tube with black-oil sunflower or a mixed seed, and let cardinals, finches, and chickadees feed while squirrels come up empty. The tube pulls apart for refilling and cleaning.
Birds Choice has manufactured wild bird feeders in Chilton, Wisconsin for years, building much of its line from recycled poly lumber that holds up season after season.
