Four inches is a big wheel for a pizza cutter, and that is what makes it work. A small wheel has to climb every ridge of crust and every piece of topping; a larger one has a shallower approach angle and keeps rolling through the whole cut.
The green handle assigns it in a coded kitchen — most usefully as the dedicated vegetarian cutter, so a meat-topped pie and a vegetable one are not cut with the same wheel.
Dexter-Russell has made cutlery in Southbridge, Massachusetts since 1818 and is the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. The Sani-Safe line is its NSF-certified foodservice range, built around a textured polypropylene handle moulded to the tang so there is no seam for food to lodge in.
