It upgrades integrated-head-tube builds that still run straight steerers — XC frames, road bikes, and older platforms — with bearings King makes in-house and the GripLock assembly that holds adjustment through rough miles.
Chris King Precision Components has machined bicycle components in Portland, Oregon since 1976, making its own bearings from domestic-mill materials and anodizing parts in-house.
