This is the Lodge 12-inch cast iron lid — a standalone cast iron lid built to fit Lodge’s 12-inch skillets, 12-inch deep skillets, and matching-size Dutch ovens. Raised points cast into the underside of the lid catch rising steam and drip the condensation back onto the food, which keeps braises and covered cooks moist without adding extra liquid.
It’s the accessory that turns a 12-inch Lodge skillet into a covered pan for braising, simmering, and steam-finishing — an upgrade that matters for recipes where trapping moisture changes the outcome. The lid’s own weight presses down on the pan to create a near-airtight seal. Oven-safe to any temperature.
Lodge has been making cast iron cookware in South Pittsburg, Tennessee since 1896 — the longest continuously operating cast iron foundry in the United States. Every traditional black cast iron piece in the Lodge lineup is cast, seasoned, and packed at that Tennessee foundry.
